EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAMME

Developmental music programmes for babies, toddlers and pre-school aged children. Held at out studio at Norwood and various child care centres.

Vocal Hub Kids is now delivering early childhood music at child care centres and in 2023 will be offering classes at our studio at Norwood. . The implementation of music into the early years is to complement and facilitate the skills necessary to develop competency in literacy and numeracy as well as a strong sense of being connected to others, belonging, social and emotional capability.

This developmental music program, written in the Kodaly tradition, has a strong focus on interactive, collaborative and kinaesthetic practices which focus on the expressive and creative skills of musicianship with the child’s first instrument, their voice. The Kodaly method,  integrates body movement, singing and group exercises to aid the development of speech and communication as well as the ‘elements of music.’ A developmental music program provides the foundational skills children need for literacy and numeracy, creativity, social capability and collaboration with peers.

In the early years, children are engaged through purposeful and creative activities including rhyme, beat and song. Children are encouraged to foster a relationship with music that is positive, build self-efficacy and a sense of agency. Children will explore music as is appropriate for their level of development. Early Childhood Music is offered for children from 18 months of age to preschool.
